Why Take Lessons?
Taking private lessons provides students with the opportunity to receive individualized instruction from a teacher who specializes in their particular instrument. Quality instruction is crucial for students to reach their fullest potential. I have coached students to earn positions in District and All-State Honor Ensembles, top ratings at Solo & Ensemble festivals, and acceptance into collegiate music programs. No matter what you hope to get out of lessons, I am committed to helping my students achieve their personal goals through a curriculum customized to suit each person.

I offer private flute lessons in Athens, GA, or online to all levels, ages 10+. Please fill out a contact form for rates and availability.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that the primary responsibility of a teacher is to foster a positive and encouraging learning environment in which students can thrive. The vast majority of the students I will have throughout my lifetime will not become professional musicians. Regardless, I firmly believe the lessons taught through music—work ethic, patience, consistency, persistence, and an appreciation for art and beauty in the world—benefit each student beyond simply playing the flute. My goal is to help create kind, hard-working, confident people through music. If they happen to choose music as a career, that is amazing, but absolutely secondary. I owe so much to the teachers who devoted time to my training and offered me guidance throughout my journey. Now, as a teacher myself, I feel a strong sense of responsibility knowing that a person’s love for making music is partially in my hands. I take this very seriously, and I am dedicated to doing everything I can to help each of my students find joy and success on their path.
